TRIP DETAILS
Starting at Oxbow Bend, at the bottom of a 2,000 foot canyon in the Sierras, this trip offers guests an exhilarating rafting experience through world class rapids and unforgettable scenery all the way down to Greenwood Bridge. We run the entire 18 miles of the Middle Fork American white water rafting trip in a single day with a stop half way for a delicious deli-style lunch. Enjoy this trip alone, or combine it with one of our South Fork trips for a double dose of fun.
The adventure begins with a scenic shuttle ride to our launching point. Here you will meet your guides, receive the safety talk and paddling instructions before the journey begins. Get ready during the first 2.5 miles of the river for the most intense rapid of the trip, the Tunnel Chute. This exhilarating rapid is sure to thrill even the most experienced whitewater enthusiast. Throughout the trip we alternate between big rapids and calm stretches. We serve a delicious deli-style lunch buffet halfway through the day. In the late afternoon we do a mandatory portage around Ruck-A-Chucky Falls, an unrunnable 20-foot drop through a boulder sieve. Several more exciting rapids will thrill you as you continue to the take-out. Enjoy the scenic ride back to your cars, where you will arrive around 4:00 PM. Please be aware that a variety of factors may cause a trip to end earlier or later than planned. Take this into consideration when making your travel plans.
